Yesterday was endorsement Wednesday and Elect Black Women PAC is endorsed two more Black women candidates. It’s only February and we are well on our way to reaching our goal of endorsing 50 Black women candidates by the end of 2021, and another 50 candidates by the end of 2022.
Bench building is important for any organization. When it comes to addressing the under representation of Black women in elected office, bench building is critical. That is why Elect Black Women PAC was proud to announce our endorsements of Ceretta Smith who is running for Grovetown City Council in Georgia and Raquetta Dotley who is running for Chattanooga City Council, District 7 in Tennessee.
Ceretta Smith is an Army veteran and small business owner who just finished a run for Georgia State Senate District 23 in 2020, earning just over 40 percent of the vote. Now, she is running in a special election for the Grovetown City Council.
For twenty-four years, Ceretta worked for the American Federation of Government Employees, the largest federal government union. She served in many different roles throughout her tenure, from the Women’s and Fair Practices Coordinator to the Legislative Political Coordinator, and at one point as the Georgia State Council President.
Ceretta’s professional experience and years of service have prepared her to hit the ground running to represent her constituents.

Raquetta Dotley is the Executive Director of the Net Resource Foundation and is the Youth Pastor at Westside Missionary Baptist Church.
This is Raquetta’s first run for public office, yet she isn’t a stranger to voter engagement. She has served as the Co-Chair of the Hamilton County Voters’ Coalition, worked with the Black Voter and Proud Voter Project, served as the Get Engaged Chairperson for the local Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and has coordinated multiple Super Saturday events to turn out the vote.
